What a cleaner swap looks like
If you prefer a minimally processed alternative, look for products that list whole cooked legumes — lentils, chickpeas, black beans — as their primary ingredient, since these deliver protein alongside intact fibre and micronutrients. For powdered supplements, hemp protein or whole-food blends that use ground seeds rather than isolated fractions are typically less refined options. Where animal protein is acceptable, plain full-fat Greek yoghurt or eggs provide protein with very short ingredient lists.
